An uncaptured basecamp

Basecamps are obtainable objectives that provide utility and more accessible resources. To capture a basecamp, a teammate must stand directly on top of it for a period of time. If captured, they restore mana and health to the team who owns it when standing directly on top of it and grant vision to the team who owns it (but cannot see stealthed/bushed units within the radius). A team can only have one active Basecamp at a time. If a team is wiped, their controlled basecamp is now no longer captured.

A basecamp has 3 interactable elements: A Shop, an Armor Repair Station, and a Packup Station. Basecamps can be packed for 800 gold after capturing. This puts a Basecamp Deployment Beacon consumable in the packing players' inventory.

The controlling team will get a warning when an enemy has been spotted within the basecamp vision radius, and on attempted capture.

Capturing a basecamp grants +25XP to all allies in the radius.

Recalling

Teammates can recall to basecamps by channeling for 4 seconds. Taking damage during this period cancels the recall. If a team does not have a currently captured Basecamp, recalling will instead recall the channeling player to the closest alive teammate.

If recalling to a basecamp, the controlling team can toggle the Bonfire camera, granting them vision of the Bonfire's vision radius.

Players can see when a hunter is recalling to a basecamp, and, if it's a teammate, who it is and the remaining duration.

Armor Repair Station

Each basecamp has an Armor Repair Station. Interacting with the Armor Repair Station consumes Gold to restore 500 health to your Armor. The price to repair scales depending on the current armor the user has equipped:

Gold required
Tier Required Gold
Common 50
Uncommon 100
Rare 200
Legendary 500
Exotic 500

Shop Powers

The Basecamp's shop is unique, as it rotates Powers every real-life hour.

Basecamp Deployment Beacon & Basecamp Recaller (Consumables)

The Basecamp Deployment Beacon is an Epic consumable item that creates a basecamp the user's team controls after a short time, and deals 650 damage to any unit within the zone as the basecamp lands. These are obtained primarily by packing up your team's existing basecamp. The Basecamp Deployment Beacon can also be looted from player deathboxes. If the user's team already has a basecamp, it unclaims the previously captured basecamp to replace it with the deployed one.

The Basecamp Recaller is a Common consumable item that recalls the user's Basecamp, and all units currently standing on it, after a 4 second channel. Players can obtain this item for 1,000 gold in the Shop. The Basecamp Recaller can also be looted from player deathboxes.

Tips

  • A basecamp is a very good early game objective to strive for, as it enables efficient map rotation, grants vision, and has one of the only ways to repair armor safely.
  • You do not need to control a basecamp to interact with the Shop or Armor Repair Station.
  • The Basecamp Recaller can be used as a way to move your team all at once to you, prevent an enemy capture, or bring enemies to you.
  • It may be suboptimal in some circumstances to capture a Basecamp, as recalling to teammates can be safer and more versatile. Consider not capturing Basecamps that will not be in the next storm circle.
  • Recalling to a basecamp can be dangerous! Enemies can see if someone is attempting to recall. You can always cancel your recall if it looks too dicey.
  • Basecamp capture progress can be seen by all players on the map. If you're looking for a fight, or looking to avoid one, consider checking basecamps near you on the map.
  • Basecamp icons correspond to team colors. If you know a particularly strong team is a certain color, watch for their basecamp on the minimap.
