Equipment are purchaseable and lootable items for your Hunter.
They can come in the form of 
Weapons, 
Boots, and 
Armor.
You can upgrade Weapons and Boots by using 
Gold at a shop or 
Power Shards. Armor can be upgraded from a shop, gold chests, dealing PvP damage, or from killing enemy players holding armor. Soul Bosses also drop Green armor.
The amount of gold required to upgrade equipment is as follows:

| Exotic | 6,000 |
Power Shards
Power Shards let you upgrade equipment without expending gold. Holding a Power Shard grants 
+2 Ability Power, up to a maximum of 10 Power Shards (+20 Ability Power).
Power Shards can be used while in a Wisp state.
