Vaults are objectives within Points of Interest that can have Powers, Armor and Gold that can only be accessed after completing a mini-game to unlock it, using Powers, or reducing the vault integrity to zero.
Types of Vaults
There are three types of Vaults uniquely indicated on the minimap: Standard Vaults, Abyssal Vaults and Hot Zone Vaults. Any Point of Interest's Vault can be any type of Vault.
Standard Vault
This is what most vaults will be each match. Can contain Powers, Gold or Armor.
Abyssal Vault
This is a vault that will have a special Abysssal Item as well as the standard Vault loot pool.
Hot-Zone Vault
The Hot Zone will contain a Vault that contains either half of the Legendary Armor, or all Legendary Armors, within the Hot Zone, depending on tier.
Opening a Vault
To open the vault, players must complete several quick-time events that gets more difficult with each success. Players must time their Interact key at the right moment to deal damage to the vault. Successfully doing this spawns a Button for other players to shoot, also dealing damage to the Vault. Only one player can be performing the quick-time event minigame at a time. The player performing the quick-time event is also Vulnerable, and briefly stunned if interrupted by damage.
Each vault can have two buttons active at once. If another successful quick-time event is completed, and two buttons are currently active on the vault, no additional button is granted.
If the quick-time event is failed at any point, a loud buzzer plays, alerting all nearby players to the failed vault. Orbs will also spawn, following the player who failed the quick-time event and dealing damage on impact.
Vaults will automatically open after 7 consecutive quick-time events. Completing the mini-game without missing creates a bonus chest.
Alternatively, Vaults can be opened with a Gold Key, bypassing the minigame. Unlocking a Vault with this method will also grant the bonus chest.
Tips
- Damage can be dealt to the vault by shooting it as well, though this isn't very efficient.
- Powers such as Remote Laser can make soloing vaults significantly easier, as players can line them up to deal massive damage to the vault door, or to clear buttons for you.
- Robber Raccoon can enable players to loot vaults without going through the minigame or expending keys. Use https://ishou.github.io/supervive-vault-trainer/ for some practice.
